NEW CONTRACT FOR 2025
Our consignment agreement is as the following:

This agreement sets forth the terms by which Hillbilly Homeschool Book Barn (Hillbilly H.B.B), a consignment retail locally owned and operated by Angela Austin, accepts goods for consignment. Being led to open a consignment bookstore for homeschoolers, we want to be a blessing to you and your family, whether you're looking to buy or sell books.
Pricing: Our goal is to price the items and put out for sale as soon as possible, however, during peak times, this could be weeks, even months depending on the volume coming in. It is your responsibility to check for unaccepted items before leaving them. If unaccepted items found, Hillbilly H.B.B. has the right to do with them whatever it deems appropriate including discarding them. All items will be priced according to Hillbilly H.B.B. discretion. Items should be clean, if not, see commission.
Commission: Hillbilly H.B.B. will deduct a commission of 55% from the sale of each item. However, if items are not clean, your commission percentage will be reduced for cleaning items.

Reductions: Hillbilly H.B.B. has the right to mark down items as it deems necessary (especially, but not limited to, older editions that are no longer available or books with writing).

Time: Hillbilly H.B.B. asks that you allow us at least four years in which to sell your items. If you request to pick up before this time frame, a fee of $2.00 per item will be charged for expenses incurred in pricing items. There will also be a flat fee of $20 for locating items and it can take 2-3 months before items are ready for pick up. If you need to pick up your items, please give us a 2-3 month notice so we can locate them. You may come and pull items yourself to waive this fee however, an appointment must be made to pull items outside of regular store hours. If your items have been at the store for an extended time, Hillbilly H.B.B. will do with them whatever it deems appropriate, including but not limited to discarding or placing in the store's free section.
Lost\Damaged Items: Hillbilly H.B.B. tried to make sure that each book is properly tagged. However, we are not responsible for items with lost tags, etc. Hillbilly H.B.B. is not to be held responsible for any liability for lost or damage to books\items while on our property for any reason.

Settlement: Hillbilly H.B.B. will remit proceeds of the sales, less commission, following the sale of items. If you do not pick up\use credit, the amount will stay on your account. However, after two years of inactivity, your account will be marked inactive and any balance will be considered for "store credit only".
The account will also incur a service charge of $5 a year until the account balance is zero or the account becomes active again. You may use your credit during any time that Hillbilly H.B.B. is open for business. A mailed check can also be requested, for a service fee of $2.00 if the account has a minimum balance of $25.00. The fee will be deducted from your account balance at that time.
Contact: IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBLITY TO CHECK WITH HILLBILLY H.B.B. TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A BALANCE ON YOUR ACCOUNT. It is also your responsibility to keep your account information up to date and accurate.
